 Vancouver, BC, September 1st, 2010 — I am very pleased to announce that effective September 1, 2010, Cansel has acquired Wade Atlantic, with 5 offices located in Atlantic Canada.
Wade Atlantic has a long and rich history in Atlantic Canada as the employees, branches and operations have been serving customers for over 50 years. I would like to warmly welcome all of the Wade Atlantic Employees.
Wade Atlantic will continue to operate as a separate and distinct distribution company focused on the Atlantic Canada Marketplace.  Trimble GPS and GIS technology was used to collect data and create a geospatial database of medium-voltage utility network for more efficient maintenance and intelligent network planning for the Electric Power Distribution Company of Belgrade, Serbia’s largest utility. 31,000 utility poles were efficiently mapped using GeoXT™ handhelds, processed with GPS Pathfinder Office, then migrated into the company’s AED-SICAD enterprise GIS system using Safe Software FME, automatically creating power lines and other equipment located on the pole based on the attribute data collected in the field. Trimble has identified an issue with the Wi-Fi module in Juno series handhelds with an operating system version 1.04.06 or earlier. A new operating system has been released for the Trimble Juno series handhelds, resolving this issue.

Important Notice for ArcGIS 10 and GPS Analyst users! |
Important information for all users upgrading to ArcGIS 10. Due to a major architectural change in ArcGIS 10, all versions of GPS Analyst, including 2.20, are unable to be installed. The previous release of ArcGIS 9.3.1 will have to be used in order to process GPS data collected in the field. Trimble is currently working on release of GPS Analyst ( v 3.00 ) to coincide with the architectural change made by ESRI.
