Working with Large Scanning Projects

#

Course description

This course is designed to prepare the trainees to implement big Scanning projects. It covers best practices from Field-to-Finish including but not limited to: scanner settings, field notes suggestions, data management, intelligent clustering, registration techniques, error budgeting, geo-referencing workflows and handling huge RCP exports.

Total Hours
4 hours

Price
$250 per person (CAD)

Students will learn how to:

  • Manage a team of multiple field crews
  • Configure the scan for optimal scan parameters
  • Field operation coordination through field notes
  • Data transfer to PC and preparation for process
  • Data Management: organizing clusters and error budgeting
  • Managing the office team for registration
  • Understanding Surveying Coordinate systems (Grid vs Ground)
  • Geo-referencing approaches and tools
  • Managing huge RCP exports for better handling in CAD systems

Prerequisites:

This course is indispensable to anyone seeking to manage multiple 3D laser Scanning team and streamline the operation from field to finish. In this course more emphasis is on the overall, higher level perspective than details, however it is recommended both layers of operation i.e. field crew and management team take the course for better coordination.
