Greetings

True North | Spring 2018

Pat Hills

Greetings geomaticians! With the rapid growth of our Autodesk business through SolidCad, acquisitions in the Wide Format and paper space, the growth of Building Point and the launch of Vantage to address our agricultural customers, Cansel has become many things to many companies in Canada. Remember though, Cansel’s roots from its inception in 1966 has been our surveying and mapping segment. Now commonly called “geospatial”, this industry has grown exponentially with pressures from business to more accurately locate, model, quantify and represent in a 3D space, the earth’s surfaces and structures.

With this fast-paced growth we felt it was time to create a newsletter to keep you up-to-date with the latest in technology and professional services we offer at Cansel as well as industry news and events. You are with your people here among the pages of True North and it is in the spirit of this collegial bond that we will convey ideas, experiences and explore new solutions to age old measurement predicaments.

Each issue will highlight emerging technologies, customer experiences and inimitably cool gear that will literally and figuratively position you for success. Check out Peter Afshar’s project undertaken with the Canadian Hydrographic Service, and read about how the customization and optimization services developed by our Innovation Team can transform your business. We have also created a Hometown Spotlight to showcase some of the employees you deal with on a daily basis.

Lastly and most importantly we are very pleased to announce the launch of our new state-of-the-art ecommerce web site. This section will include a link to a how-to video that will assist you in getting your account set up.

We feel privileged to be playing a part in helping you to meet all of the geospatial challenges you face. It’s a great ride we’re on together!

Have an accurate day!
